Welcome to The Official Site of Stuart ‘KO’ Kellett!

Stuart Kellett LogoThis is the new homepage of Stuart ‘KO’ Kellett, Winmau Masters finalist, and now PDC Darts Professional.

After winning a PDC Tour card in 2012, Stuart has already moved up to 78th in the PDC Rankings (which is a 2 year rolling system, so plenty of time to move right up that!), and qualified for the 2013 world championships coming through a tough qualifier field in Barnsley.

Stuart has already taken some big name scalps, and is starting to settle into the new ‘professional’ regime of the PDC floor tournaments.

With his first experience of a PDC TV tournament under his belt (UK Open in Bolton), he has now also qualified for one of the big money European Tour events – the European Darts Open in Germany in July. With a proven darts management team behind him (MDA and Mitchell promotions, who also look after Dean Winstanley and Justin Pipe), Team Kellett is now looking to ‘KO’ his opposition and shoot up those rankings. Get in touch if you wish to be part of that team as a sponsor.

ladbrokes world champs logoThe Ladbrokes World Darts Championship will be held from December 13 2013-January 1 2014 at Alexandra Palace in London, featuring 72 players from around the world and a record first prize of £250,000 from over £1 million in prize money.  Coverage is live on Sky Sports HD throughout the event, with the semi-finals and final being shown in 3D.

Stuart had a very tough first round draw, taking on ‘The Asset, Paul Nicholson, who has much returned to form in the last year.

Round 1:  Paul Nicholson 3-0 Stuart Kellett

Kellett won the opening leg of the contest before losing the next three to Nicholson, who claimed won the opening set with the aid of 97 and 72 finishes.  Nicholson then took the second set without reply after capitalising on missed doubles from the 32-year-old from Northwich, as he took command in the game.  Kellett improved in the third set, which went to a deciding leg, but the set once again fell the way of Nicholson as he hit double eight to cross the finishing line.

Match Information
First Set
1-0 – Both players hit 180s before Kellett takes out a 64 finish to win the first leg against the darts.
1-1 – Nicholson hits back straight away as he posts double eight to break.
2-1 – Both players record maximums once again before Nicholson takes out a 97 finish to lead.
3-1 – Kellett is just off-target with an attempt at bullseye for a 128 checkout and Nicholson clinically takes out 72 in two darts to win the first set.

Second Set
1-0 – Nicholson lands a third 180 before hitting double four after Kellett misses one more dart at bullseye, this time for a 130 checkout.
2-0 – Kellett hits his third maximum but one missed dart at tops proves expensive as Nicholson hits double eight.
3-0 – Nicholson lands another 180 but Kellett is first to a finish. However, one missed dart at double 16 is again costly as the Aussie hits double top to establish a two-set advantage.

Third Set
0-1 – Kellett takes out a 70 finish on double six with his opponent waiting on a two-darter.
1-1 – Nicholson levels thanks to an accurate third dart at double eight, with Kellett waiting on 36.
2-1 – Nicholson moves a leg away from victory thanks to an clinical two-dart 88 finish.
2-2 – One dart at double 18 to win the match goes high of the target from Nicholson and Kellett hits tops to keep his hopes alive.
3-2 – Kellett is unable to take out 127 and Nicholson hits double eight to win the match.
