Welcome to The Official Site of Stuart ‘KO’ Kellett!

Stuart Kellett LogoThis is the new homepage of Stuart ‘KO’ Kellett, Winmau Masters finalist, and now PDC Darts Professional.

After winning a PDC Tour card in 2012, Stuart has already moved up to 78th in the PDC Rankings (which is a 2 year rolling system, so plenty of time to move right up that!), and qualified for the 2013 world championships coming through a tough qualifier field in Barnsley.

Stuart has already taken some big name scalps, and is starting to settle into the new ‘professional’ regime of the PDC floor tournaments.

With his first experience of a PDC TV tournament under his belt (UK Open in Bolton), he has now also qualified for one of the big money European Tour events – the European Darts Open in Germany in July. With a proven darts management team behind him (MDA and Mitchell promotions, who also look after Dean Winstanley and Justin Pipe), Team Kellett is now looking to ‘KO’ his opposition and shoot up those rankings. Get in touch if you wish to be part of that team as a sponsor.

KO Kellett Back in Europe; The European Darts Open

More important ranking money won by Stuart in Germany this weekend, with £1,000 won for his first round win.  Unfortunately there was no run to the final this time, as KO came up against the one man hurricane that is Kim Huybrechts, who threw some fantastic darts to beat him.

As Stuart said on his twitter after the game…

Well he sure is a hurricane lol. Fair play to Kim, he was awesome! Just got to take it on the chin n move on!

Round 1:  Stuart Kellett 6-4 Dennis Smith
Round 2:  Kim Huybrechts 6-1 Stuart Kellett

Stuart now will rest, practice, then head back to Wigan later this month for two more player championship events on the ProTour.  Then there’s another European tour event, and of course the UK Open in June, where you’ll hopefully get to see Stuart on TV.

Stuart makes his 2nd final of 2013

Stuart before his game at the worlds (Lawrence Lustig/PDC)

Another fantastic weekend on the PDC Pro tour, which saw KO reach his 2nd event  final,  sees Stuart sitting in 5th place in the ProTour order of merit.  His 2013 form has been very strong, and will see him in many of the big televised tournaments - including next month’s UK Open.  Kellett’s floor form and money won means he also automatically qualifies for the very important European tour events, which offer £20,000 top prizes.  Stuart also now sits 45th in the world rankings, a position he will surely improve on in the coming months.

Sunday’s run in Wigan saw Stuart win £5,000, and even more impressively, beat Phil Taylor 6-4 in the semi-final.  KO also beat another Premier league player, Andy ‘the hammer’ Hamilton in his run of wins, with the well known Ronnie Baxter and Wayne Jones also losing to KO.

Kellett Heads for Wigan, Germany and Bolton in Great Form!

Speedy Services UK OpenStuart ‘KO’ Kellett’s form and confidence continues to grow, as his performances in 2013 continues to impress many darts fans.  Darts is often as much in the head as the arm, and Stuart certainly now has the confidence to match his skill with the tungsten.

UK Open qualifying is now complete, with Stuart qualifying for the Bolton finals (on Sky Sports TV of course, if you wish to join Stuart’s team as a sponsor, get in touch with his management team here) in joint 19th spot.  Being well inside the top 32 means Stuart can relax on the opening night, as is rewarded by missing the very dangerous early rounds.

Stuart also, through his fantastic current 7th position in the pro tour order of merit (table below), qualifies automatically for the next European Tour event in Germany.  With £100,000 prize fund, and £20,000 first prize, it is a great position to be in, ensuring a minimum of £500 won for a round 1 appearance.  Stuart’s runner up spot in the previous Euro Tour event has cemented his position in several TV events, with more opportunities to show his game to old and new fans live on Sky Sports.

The draw for the European Darts Open in Germany in Düsseldorf on May 17-19th sees Stuart (seeded 22nd) take on the very experienced Dennis Smith, which should be a great game.

KO’s next darts event is back in Wigan this coming weekend, at the first Player Championships event of 2013.  The prize money has been raised by the PDC, and Stuart will be aiming for the new £10,000 first prize on offer.

Stuart Kellett Hopes to ‘KO’ Manager Clifton Mitchell

Stuart Kellett Hopes to ‘KO’ Manager Clifton Mitchell

Stuart KO kellett

Stuart KO Kellett, looking to ‘Smash Clifton’s head in” before Armageddon

In a massive surprise move, MDA promotions can reveal that their darts pro Stuart ‘KO’ Kellett will add professional boxing to his CV, as he takes on his manager, heavyweight Clifton Mitchell in a 9 round professional bout, on a full size fight ring set-up before the April Armageddon darts exhibition.

Stuart took his inspiration after watching Rocky 2 while on a pro tour event in Crawley after a good day on the oche, and started training immediately, putting aside his pot noodle for squat thrusts.

Since then the locals in Chester have often seen Stuart running through the city, and running up the winding steps of Chester Cathedrals great towers to increase his stamina.

It is rumoured KO will weigh in 3 or 4 pounds heaver than his darts weight, at an imposing 8 stone 4.   He hopes that extra weight will help him “put Clifton on his arse“.

Stuart promises darts and fight fans a proper fight, and during a press conference, a snarling KO said; “I’m going to rip his head off… let’s get it on right now!” and had to be restrained by Clifton’s security team.

Stuart Kellett on Tour; UK Open Qualifiers 3&4

speedy services uk openStuart joined the 220+ PDC darts pros turned up at Wigan at the weekend to play in two more PDC UK Open qualifiers – all hoping to qualify for the Bolton finals in June.  That huge number unfortunately meant a lot of prelims, with dangerous games needed to be won before any ranking money could be earned.

That didn’t stop KO though – who had another good Saturday, earning £600 to add to his rankings.  His £1,200 total so far places his joint 24th, and as many predict between £600-£800 needed for qualification, Stuart is now certain of appearing at the Televised Bolton Finals.

A fantastic start for ‘KO’ Kellett in Minehead today, as he whitewashed fellow PDC professional Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright 6-0 up on the main stage in front of thousands of darts fans.

Rnd 1:  Stuart Kellett 6-0 Peter Wright

Round 2 continues on Saturday, with Stuart playing the winner of Colin Lloyd and Brian Woods.

Saturday March 9
Second Round

Colin Lloyd 1-6 Stuart Kellett

Another great win for Stuart – and a minimum £2,000 banked for the weekend already, which has meant 2013 has started with a bang now!  The Cheshire ace hit finishes of 138, 120 and 103 in taking the game’s first four legs, before punishing three missed doubles from Lloyd to win the fifth on double 16. Lloyd, who had landed two earlier 180s, hit a 174 and tops to get off the mark in the sixth, but missed two darts at double eight in the next as Kellett sealed the win on double two.

Third Round:  Dave Chisnall 5-6 Stuart Kellett

A magnificent scalp for KO, beating one of THE form players in 2012.  That see’s him bag at least £3,000, and he’ll take to the big stage again during the evening final session.  Kellett was 5-3 down before he came back, and in the process climbs to a minimum 59th place in order of merit and above Mark Dudbridge.

Quarter-Finals:  Stuart Kellett 6-1 Robert Thornton

Stuart puts in a massive performance and a 93.7 ave to win into the semi-finals!  Great finishing was too much for The Thorn, and it’s onwards and upwards for KO.  A huge £5,000 minimum won now!

Semi-Finals:  Stuart Kellett (93.47) 6 (11) 3 (93.7) Andy Hamilton

Stuarts top form continues, with a win against the Premier league star Andy ‘The Hammer’ Hamilton.  He hit a 122 checkout to take the final leg – some darts.  The final now beckons, and a cool £10,000 is in the bag!  That’s the world championship place for 2014 already secured with that money on his rankings!

Final:  Stuart Kellett 4-6 John Part

Stuart just misses out in the final to 3x world champion John Part.  An amazing weekend for KO, and a real confidence builder.  It means PDC fans will be seeing more of him on their TVs now!   The run see’s Stuart march up to 53rd in the order of merit, onwards and upwards!  Check the videos page for some of the action and post match interview.

First Pro Tour Weekend of 2013, Overall A Good one for KO!

First Pro Tour Weekend of 2013, Overall A Good one for KO!

The first pro tour in Crawley proved a long one for all the players, with over 100 entries for the Friday night UK Masters qualifier; but it was good news for Stuart, as he won through to the first European Tour event in Minehead next month, with a minimum £500 won.

Then it was two days of UK Open qualifiers, with nearly 240 players registered on the day.  Again the weekend proved fruitful, with the £600 won on Sunday putting Stuart very close to spot for the Bolton TV finals (£600 was good enough last year to qualify). There are still more UK Open qualifiers to go, so Stuart will obviously be hoping to push those winnings up, so he can become seeded and miss the early dangerous rounds.

Stuart at the Ladbrokes World Darts Championships

Stuart made sure he was ready for his tie with Vincent van der Voort at the 2013 World Championships by spending the night before soaking up the atmosphere, and watching his team mate Justin Pipe winning on the big Alexandra Palace stage.

Stuart was 3rd up, and his debut at the PDC world championships was never going to be easy, against the fast throwing Dutch player Vincent van der Voort.

Unfortunately it wasn’t to be Stuart’s night, as he could never quiet show the TV fans his proper game, and the experienced VdvV managed to have the edge in every set.
